As I haven’t been doing any personal illustrations, I thought I should add another thing I did in school for this week. We were supposed to propose a web design for this imaginary design agency named “Rainbow”, and so, starting from a blank canvas to the above image, was my suggestion for their logo and web layout.

Twitting Too

Been wanting to have a Twitter account though I have no reasons why, until I recently got my BlackBerry. Now, I can just update random stuffs over that platform anytime and anywhere. And my username is just weird. Due to the fact that the username, “Johnne”, is taken over there, I couldn’t think of any other username but to add another Johnne behind. It’s a little annoying to see all my different usernames spread across all the different sites that I use though I have no choice.

And so, now, I am ready to twit after creating a background for my Twitter profile. And just like what everybody else always say when they own a Twitter account, follow me on Twitter!

Kampung Boy

I know I haven’t been updating but anyway, an extract from a book titled, Kampung Boy: Yesterday and Today, was given to me as an assignment. So, we had to do somewhat a storyboard on it? – Which was what you saw above. So I thought I should share this as I’m clearing space on my MacBook. And this would be my first post on my MacBook. I know that rewinding a few posts I said that I decided to not buy a Macbook but I bought it anyway since my other laptop crashed on me.

Have mercy on what you just saw as I only spent a day for this assignment for grading. Heh.

The words were haunting me last night. They became the sounds of flickering television of an empty channel at volume thirteen. I tried not to think about it. I tried shaking them off by inhaling nicotine and prayed it’ll cloud my head instead. Still, it was to no avail. Even when I tried chanting Ashlee Simpson’s Outta My Head, the sounds of the flickering television still hungrily occupied my head like it was free permanent advertising space. It was like watching hissing monochrome pixels for thirteen days. Thirteen days of hell in one.

Yeah, I know, it is all just a phase. And in this phase, I have a confession to make. I have also only gotten halfway back to sane. And I’m dead serious. I need a counselor. I’ll counsel my own soul behind that white hollow tree. But don’t feel sorry for me.

New Layout

I got a little bored of the previous layout which is shown above. Actually, really bored. I’m not inspired to update just by looking at the layout which has been there for so long. I would say for about a year? And I did felt the guilt for not drawing and updating this blog. So yeah, I decided that it was time for a change of layout. And thankfully, I just found myself in love with this theme that is in WordPress.

The generous width just for the entries is really great. Things won’t look cramped up like before. And now I have a broader space to show any future illustrations that is extensive in width. I also think its better not to look back at any older posts from here on as the change in the content width probably messed up with how some older posts were supposed to look like. Still, everything is just really neat in this theme.

Plus, just on the sidebar, you might notice that I’ve added some new bars with my dung character stamped on it. It’s just there for aesthetic purposes. This might come off as self-praising but I really love the bars on the sidebar that I’ve just created. Heh. So, hopefully this new layout would make your stay here a little more pleasant than before.

What I Have

So in the previous post I told myself and decided that I should get a Macbook. Not that I haven’t been saving but I decided not to save for a Macbook anymore. I’m not being fickle-minded.

So many things happened recently. The pursuit for new things in life would make you lose some other which you had. When you have acquired something new, you’ll start to realize that you rather not have it and go back. But when you do go back, it’s no longer there. Taken.

So yeah, my currently laptop have been with me for almost two years this coming April. It has not failed me in terms of performance and stuff, except for the occasional screen flickering problem which could be sent for repair. Other than that, it’s been a really good laptop. So no new notebook until after army since I won’t be able to get access to it when I’m serving the nation next year soon.

So yeah, I always tell myself and people, just work with it. Just work with what you have, what you’re given. Life right now has been really great with what I have. It always has been. Though I feel sorry for my own loss, having regrets, wanting to go back to everything before, what can I do about it, really? I am the one who chose to toss these away.

Still, I’m alright. I choose not to sit down here to whine and complain. I choose to deny myself from thinking about it. I would burn myself with my cigarettes each time I think about my loss. I already have seven burn marks on my left wrists. I’m alright.

And don’t forget, what you have now is once what you desired. So stop looking around, stop looking.

Piggy Bank

Clickity clank, clickity clank, the money goes into my piggy bank.

I’m going to save for the new white macbook with the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics card. And I’m intending to upgrade the space and ram since I don’t really like the new aluminum macbook even though it’s much better. The design comes first, performance second. That’s for me.

It’ll take awhile to save for a new notebook. So the thing that sucks being a student is money. Still, for that macbook, it’ll definitely take less than ten months.*

* Less than ten months would only happen if I cut down splurging on cigarettes and Starbucks. If not, the new notebook is never going to happen.

Baby Steps

On March 13^th last year, I bought a tutorial/guide book for the program 3DS Max. Up till today, not a single page was flipped. It’s collecting dust. Sidetrack, I remember back in primary school days, I would get money from my mom to buy many books during the school book fair period. After the purchase, I would chuck the books aside and not read them. And back then, my ambition was to open a library. Haha.

Stumbled upon many talented designers’ and programmers’ websites, I’m envious. Everyone started from scratch, and through their diligence, they impressed many. Now, I really have to start flipping those pages of the book I bought a year ago. It cost me SGD85.55. So I really better stop procrastinating.

Sexys:

Grabbed a coffee and chilled at Starbucks today with Joanna and Huizhi. We came up with a lot of plans for the clique in the near future. And I’m really psyched! Can’t wait for our plans to happen, so all of my sexy people please start saving up okay! I really hope the plans we made will include ALL of us. We’ll fill you guys in on the details when everyone is present. (:
